Bogotá, Colombia, November 7, 2025 – Following a week of inspiring engagement at the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP), Faith to Action Network participated in a strategic post-ICFP reflection convened by FP2030. The half-day session, titled “Rethinking the Action Plan for Financing Family Planning/SRHR,” brought together civil society organizations (CSOs), youth advocates, and global health partners to examine the evolving financing landscape for family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
Faith to Action Network was represented by CEO Peter Munene and West Africa Programmes Manager Ayoko Bahun, who joined other leaders in reflecting on key outcomes from ICFP 2025 and charting forward-looking strategies for sustainable financing.
The session featured a series of thought-provoking presentations and discussions centered on:
- Lessons learned from ICFP 2025 through the lens of youth and CSO engagement;
- Emerging funding challenges linked to global aid reductions and shifting foreign policy priorities; and
- The role of civil society and faith actors in mobilizing domestic resources and safeguarding SRHR investments.
Participants explored new advocacy opportunities for strengthening national ownership and long-term sustainability of FP and SRHR programs. The conversation underscored the importance of data-driven advocacy, country-led financing models, and multi-sectoral collaboration to ensure equitable access to family planning services and uphold reproductive rights.
As an organization working at the intersection of faith, gender justice, and health, Faith to Action Network reaffirmed its commitment to advancing financing solutions that are inclusive, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of women and young people across Africa.
“Sustaining progress on family planning requires rethinking not just who funds the movement, but how we build resilient systems that center people, values, and communities,” said Peter Munene, CEO, Faith to Action Network.
Faith to Action Network continues to collaborate with partners under the FP2030 umbrella to amplify faith voices in the global advocacy agenda for universal access to family planning and SRHR.
