Faith to Action Network joins partners, faith leaders, and faith communities across the world on International Women’s Day in reaffirming a simple but urgent commitment – women’s rights and dignity must be central to faith, development, and public life.
This year’s global theme, reminds us that progress for women and girls requires more than policy declarations. It requires shifting harmful norms, amplifying women’s voices in faith and community leadership, and ensuring equitable access to health, education, and opportunity.
Across our network, faith actors are working to transform narratives that have historically limited women’s agency. When faith leaders stand for dignity, justice, and equality, communities listen and change becomes possible.
On IWD, we celebrate the women and girls who continue to lead change, and the faith communities who walk alongside them in advancing gender justice, bodily autonomy, and equal participation in decision-making.
Gender justice is not only a development priority. It is a moral imperative.
