• When Faith and AI Unite to Protect Childhood

Lomé, Togo – August 14, 2025

A world first is unfolding in Togo. At the SALEM Temple in Hanukopus, the Faith to Action Network, in collaboration with national faith-based partners, officially launched an unprecedented campaign to end child marriage—bringing together Christian, Muslim, and traditional religious leaders, and powered by an unexpected ally: artificial intelligence.

Called “La protection des enfants, un devoir sacré” the initiative blends the moral authority of faith-based messages with cutting-edge tools to tackle child marriage in new, and engaging ways. The campaign slogan is “Ma plus belle tenue est mon uniforme“.

What Makes This Campaign Groundbreaking?

Interfaith Unity: Religious leaders: Christian, Muslim, and Traditional across denominations are speaking with one voice to protect children—affirming that child marriage is not supported by faith or tradition.

AI powered Communication: animated avatars, AI-cloned voices in French, Mina, and Kabyè, multilingual podcasts, and social listening tools.

Ten episodes lie at the heart of the campaign, broadcast through faith-based radio stations, social media platforms, and even places of worship. These virtual voices rooted in authentic local culture address sensitive topics such as emotional consequences, school dropout, gender-based violence, parental responsibility, and access to justice.

Protecting children is a sacred duty. Today, technology strengthens our faith.

With 25% of Togolese girls still married before the age of 18, despite the legal ban, the campaign aims to create lasting social change. Supported by Faith to Action Network, it draws on an interfaith and participatory strategy that puts human dignity and the right to education at its core.

Where to Find the Campaign

Look out for the series under the hashtag #EnfanceDabord #MaPlusBelleRobeEstMonUniforme. Available on WhatsApp, TikTok, Facebook, and in places of worship.

The mission is clear: to deliver a united, modern, and engaged religious voice, ensuring every girl has the right to grow, learn, and freely choose her own future.
