Faith to Action Network Annual Convention 2021

Faith to Action Network Convention

The Faith to Action Network Annual Convention 2021 Starts In:

01Days 13Hours 26Minutes 37Seconds

About The Convention

Every year, Faith to Action Network member organisations, partners and friends, and allies come together to deliberate and reach consensus on issues they are grappling with. These issues relate to the following three thematic focuses:

  • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right (SRHR),
  • Gender Equality & Human Rights and
  • Pluralism & Peaceful Coexistence.

Since 2019, Faith to Action Network has held one convention that offered a safe space for intra-faith and inter-faith dialogues so as to encourage mutual learning and exchanges

The annual convention theme for 2021 is Diversity and Inclusion: From Rhetoric to Collective Faith Action. While the faith voice has remained in the periphery of social justice conversations, this year’s convention seeks to change that. This year’s convention theme encourages faith actors to unite and use their collective voice to steer change on issues that the faith community is grappling with.

Convention Objectives
The objectives of the 2021 edition of the Faith to Action Network Convention are to stimulate participants to better understand, engage and plan action on:

  • Freedom of Religion and Belief in order to advance peaceful coexistence and
  • Gender just laws, policies, norms, and practices.
  • Improved Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
  • Building a faith actors’ movement

The desired outcomes of this event are that convention participants have:

  • Shared experiences and learnt from each other, having discussed new ideas and
    perspectives
  • Expressed solidarity for participants’ challenging situations, celebrated each other’s
    successes and achievements
  • Inspired each other to plan and take coordinated regional and global faith-based
    actions
  • Found an opportunity to network and form strategic partnerships with other like-minded faith institutions and key stakeholders.
